We Welcomed Old Friends

and Made New Ones

at Our Hello Summer Festival

Celebrating the Opening

of Our Newly Nature Play Space.

What a Delightful Day! A continuous flow of people turned out on Thursday, June 20, to say "say hello, summer" and help us celebrate the official opening of our Nature Play Space. From 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., some 500 people flowed through the gates, checked out the activities along the gravel road and wound their way around to the Play Space.

Music, food trucks, face painting, crafts, exhibits, information tables, a marshmallow roast, sensory activities, a bat walk and just plain old fashioned free play made the day memorable.

Alderman Andre Vasquez welcomed visitors from our new Play

Space stage. Also on stage at various times throughout the day were From the Start banjo band, Music House violinists and the Ida May singers. As we have no electricity, we brought in a solar powered sound system just for the festival.
