VIP Award: Our PAC is one of @FriendsoftheParks 2020 VIPs! The VIP (Volunteers-in-Parks) Award honors us for our stewardship in protecting native species, contributing to environmental knowledge and maintaining the walking areas of West Ridge Nature Park.
Our thanks to all who help with trash collecting, seed gathering, photography, and monitoring activities and contribute data through eBird, eNaturalist and our Citizen Science Program. Receiving a VIP Award from the Friends of the Parks is a great honor.

New Name: Upon learning that the preserve was still Park 568, our PAC traversed the Chicago Park District's naming process from beginning to end. The result: official approval of the name, West Ridge Nature Park
What's in a name? Well, the first two words describe our geographical location. The third word sets forth our charge to protect and enhance native flora and fauna. And the fourth word invites the public to participate within the nature framework.
